Cajun-Seared Catfish

Spice Up Your Dish With A Cayenne Kick

15 minutes prep time  |  Serves 4

What You Need
  • 2  tsp paprika

  • 2 tsp dried thyme

  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  • 4 catfish fillets, 5–6 oz each

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 fresh lemon, quartered 

  1. Mix paprika, thyme, cayenne, salt, and black pepper together in a small bowl. Transfer spice mixture to a flat plate.

  2. Dredge catfish fillets in spice mixture, rubbing spices in with your hands so they adhere to both sides of the fish.

  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add catfish to skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side.

  4. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
