Acupuncture appears to reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes and night sweats—vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause.

Accupuncture Shows Promise for Relief From Hot Flashes

Women who underwent acupuncture in a 2018 study also reported improvements in their health-related quality of life. Researchers evaluated studies that tested acupuncture’s effectiveness for treating vasomotor symptoms as well as any negative effects. They determined that the practice “presents real promise for patients wrestling with bothersome vasomotor symptoms.”
