Ingredients 1 3⁄4 cups water 2 cups sugar 2 cups juice from freshly squeezed lemons 1 Tbsp freshly grated lemon zest Directions Ccombine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Keep at a boil until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and allow to cool. Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest. Transfer mixture to a 13-inch by 9-inch metal baking pan. Stir every half hour. Freeze until firm (about 2 to 3 hours). Notes If you have an ice cream maker, follow the directions on your appliance instead of using the metal baking pan method.
