Wide Awake, Barely

Sleepy teenager

Adequate sleep is crucial for teenagers, providing boosts to their memory, attention, emotional state, and physical health. But guess what? More than 90 percent of US high school students are chronically sleep deprived. A lot of them sleep less than five hours per night, which is about half of the amount recommended by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Homework, anxiety, and electronics in the bedroom are among the factors keeping kids up.

Many teens are simply too busy to get adequate sleep, but some of us older folks are sleep-deprived for other reasons. You’ll find herbal sleep inducers and other natural aids here: http://www.tasteforlife.com/conditions-wellness/fatigue/in-search-lost-sleep
